The 10-day Telegraph
Bath Festival of Children's Literature 2013 is the UK's top festival for
children and features brilliant events for children of all ages. Here are
our 10 highlights:
1: Festival Opening Night (Friday 27th September, 7-8pm, Guildhall)
• A panel discussion about children's literature featuring Bath's new Guest Artistic Director David Almond, school librarian Gill Trueman and author Cressida Cowell.

2: Michael
Rosen (Saturday 28th September, 10.30-11.30am, The Forum)
• The jokes and poems flow from the poet and former Children’s Laureate Michael Rosen.
3: Charlie Higson (Saturday 28th September, 5.30-6.15pm, Mission Theatre)
• One for older children as comedian and actor Charlie Higson, author of the Young Bond series, talks about the new instalment in his zombie series, The Fallen.
4: Judith Kerr (Sunday 29th September, 4-4.45pm, Guildhall)
• Judith Kerr, who is 90 this year, will talk about her celebrated works, including The Tiger Who Came to Tea.
5: Is Our Food Safe? (Monday 30th September, 1.15-2pm, Guildhall)
The Young Curators panel discuss what’s in our food and whether we can trust our manufacturers and suppliers.

The new Children's Laureate talks about her thriller The Noble Conflict
7: Eoin Colfer (Saturday 5th October, 6-6.45pm, Guildhall)
The witty writer talks about his time-twisting novel, W.A.R.P.: The Reluctant Assassin.
8: The Very Hungry Caterpillar (Sunday 6th October, 2-2.45pm, Bath Central Library)
One of the many events for toddlers – a storytelling session to celebrate Eric Carle’s much-loved classic.
9: Lauren St John (Sundayh October, 5.30-6.15pm, Mission Theatre)
Lauren St John talks about her new horse-based novel Race The Wind.
10: Seawigs and sea monkeys (Sunday 6th October, 5.30-6.15pm, Guildhall)
Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre have joined forces for one of the big autumn book launches.
